What style wedding suit to wear?

To answer this question, we need to consider the following:

  1. What time of day is your wedding?
  2. What is the theme of your wedding?
  3. How formal is your partners dress / suit?
  4. What is the dress code on your invitation?

Formal – Black tie, a peak or shawl collar satin lapelled dinner suit. Some people also take formal as suit and tie. A 3-piece suit can be a favorable and versatile option.

Semi-formal weddings – Both a notch, peak lapel single breasted suits. Tie optional.

Cocktail weddings – An open neck shirt combined with a peak lapel suit. For a more casual approach, a tailored sports jacket, open neck shirt and chino are fitting.

Garden and beach weddings – Usually more relaxed and thus the style of unstructured jackets with patch pockets will be a great pick.

There is a myriad of option to consider when deciding on the style of suit, but it is worth the effort. We will guide you every step of the way.

Should I wear a 3-piece wedding suit?

A 3-piece suit sits very high on our list but whether you wear one for your wedding depends on a couple of different factors.

  1. Does it work for your wedding dress code?
  2. Does it match your partner’s level of formality?
  3. Does it work for your body type?

During your initial consultation, we’ll answer these questions and guide you through your options.

What colour wedding suit to wear?

To answer this question, we need to consider the following:

  1. How will your suit compliment your partner?
  2. How will your suit compliment the wedding part?
  3. What are the season’s colours?
  4. Colours of any floral arrangements
  5. Wedding theme
  6. Dress code

Seasonal colour considerations

  • Springtime is ideal for lighter greys, blues, pinks, ivory, browns and green.
  • Autumn gives way to olive, burgundy, medium grey and darker browns.
  • Winter ushers in charcoal, black, midnight blue, purple and forest green.
  • Summer is great for ice blues, soft pink, and off white.
